Feed the frog the right note!

  1. A bug buzzes onto the alto clef staff and flies toward the frog.
  2. Remember: the middle line is middle C — the clef points right at it.
  3. Type the note name (A – G) — it submits the instant you press the key.
  4. Correct? The frog's tongue zaps it up ✓ — Wrong? Blech, it's spat back out.
  5. If a bug reaches the frog without being named, it flies off and you lose a heart ♥.
  6. Your first wrong guess on each bug is free — after that, wrong guesses nibble your health.
  7. The bugs speed up the more you get right — stay sharp!

What students practise

The alto clef version of Chameleon Note Snacks. Bugs fly across the staff and students name the note before the frog snaps them up. The start screen reminds students that the middle line is middle C, which is the anchor for reading everything else.

Using it in class

Great for viola players, or for any class exploring how the C clef works once they know treble and bass. Start on the Easy range (notes on the staff only) and move to Full once students are confident with the ledger lines.
